As every year, we would like to bring your attention to some upcoming aviation events in Europe and share our experiences from the previous editions, as well as let you know the reasons, why we consider them interesting and worth visiting.
And here is the second part of the 2025 European aviation events review, selected for you by our editorial team – obviously, it will be a purely subjective choice of events and should not be considered as an ultimate guide:
Belgium
On 7th May 2025, Beauvechain air force base of the Belgian Air Component will open its doors for general public.
During the event, presentation of helicopters and transport aircraft is planned, as well as possibility to see some of the base facilities. The open day is ticketed, and the entrance fee is about 10€ per person.
If you plan to visit the Beauvechain base this year, please note that the open doors day is held on Wednesday, not during the weekend.
The Sanicole International Airshow, already introduced in the first part of our review, disclosed the first participants of the 2025 edition of the show. They include MBB Bo 105 display team from Poland with its fantastic pyrotechnic performance; one of the most interesting aircraft of the 1960s, OV-10 Bronco, showcased by the Bronco Demo Team; and JAS-39C Gripen flying display of the Czech Air Force.
This year´s edition of the show will be held on 13th and 14th September 2025. Our report from the 2019 edition can be found here, and the impressions from the last year´s edition will be soon published on our web site.

Czech Republic
We are pleased to share the news about new, recently announced aviation event in the Czech Republic – Letecký den Hosín (Aviation Day Hosín).
Back in 2023, the Hosín airfield, located in the vicinity of České Budějovice, celebrated its centennial with a local aviation event. The display was well-received by aviation enthusiasts and general public, therefore the decision to follow with a full, two-day air show was made.
Letecký den Hosín is being organised by Aeroklub České Budějovice and Agentura 4PRO s.r.o. The latter company is already a reliable partner of aviation events in the Czech Republic, involved in Plasy and Cheb shows.
Only one participant of the show was disclosed so far, and it was Bemobox team, flying with four Zlín 142 and 43 aircraft. Nevertheless, the organizers promise an interesting mix of flying displays to be performed by modern and historical aircraft, as well as top-class aerobatic performances to be showcased during the show.
The air show in Hosín will take place on 30th and 31st August 2025. Tickets for the event are already available here.
And, if we already mentioned Den ve vzduchu (Day in the Air) in Plasy, here are some updates regarding participants of the show. According to the organisers, visitors to the event will be able to enjoy flying displays of Melanie Astles, the sole aviatrix taking part in the Red Bull Air Race championship series, and her Extra 330SC aerobatic special; Luca Bertossio, the glider world aerobatics champion, flying Swift S-1; Niebergall aerobatics duo with two SIAI-Marchetti SF-260; the Flying Bulls Aerobatics Team; Trenér Box formation of four Zlín Trenér aircraft and Martin Šonka´s aerobatic show.
The air show in Plasy will be held on 26th and 27th April. Tickets for the event are already available here.

Cancellations
Regrettably, the 2025 air show calendar was already hit by some cancellations. Here are some of the important ones:
Danish Air Show – the latest edition of the biggest aviation event in Denmark took place in 2022. As the show was organised biennially, the next edition was expected to be held in 2024.
Initially, the event was planned to be organised in Skrydstrup, but then moved to Aalborg. However, in April of 2024, the Royal Danish Air Force informed about cancellation of the show, due to operational reasons. Next edition of the Danish Air Show was then scheduled for upcoming year, although in November of 2024, it was officially announced that there would be no show in 2025 either.
At the moment, there is no information whether the Danish Air Show is going to be held in 2026.
Slovak International Air Fest (SIAF) – over the past few years, the most known international air show in Slovakia faced organizational difficulties. The 2024 edition of the event was cancelled approximately two months before the show, but at that moment it seemed to be just one-time issue.
Regrettably, a few days ago cancellation of the SIAF 2025 was officially announced. In addition, the Slovak Ministry of Defence decided to terminate the agreement with current co-organizer of the show. Therefore, the event is now facing an uncertain future.
Memorial Air Show (MAS) – in 2022, one of the most interesting aviation events in the Czech Republic celebrated its 30th anniversary. Despite challenging weather conditions, the show offered an attractive and broad range of displays, as well as possibility to visit hangar exhibition (our report from the event is available here).

The show in Roudnice nad Labem was usually held every odd year. The 30th anniversary edition was initially planned for 2021, but had to be postponed for a year, due to coronavirus restrictions. Therefore, the next edition of MAS was initially scheduled for 2023. However, soon it was announced the show was postponed to 2025.
At the moment, there is no official information about the next edition of the show. The last update regarding the event was published on the official page of Roudnice Airport in June of 2023, but currently the section dedicated to MAS is empty. Moreover, just one week before the initial date of the show, Roudnice airfield will host the annual Reunion of Czechoslovak Aircraft, thus organisation of the air show event just a weekend later is rather impossible.
Therefore, it is not surprising that some aviation-focused web sites in the Czech Republic already issued information about cancellation of the 2025 edition of MAS. And, unfortunately, this seems to be the most possible scenario.
Axalp Live Fire Demo – last but not least, we would like to mention that popular live-fire display of the Swiss Air Force was also cancelled. Already in 2023, the country´s Ministry of Defence announced there would be no event in Axalp in 2024 and 2025.
At the moment, there is no information about any future editions of the event.
