Embraer has signed separate agreements with Lufthansa Group carriers Air Dolomiti and Austrian Airlines to provide component support for their E-Jet fleets under the manufacturer´s Pool Program. Announced on 28 October 2026, the contracts cover a total of 43 aircraft and include access to spare parts, component exchange, repair and overhaul services.
The agreement with Air Dolomiti covers the Italian airline’s fleet of 30 E-Jets and includes support for more than 300 components across multiple onboard systems. Under the agreement, the airline will benefit from exchange, repair and overhaul services designed to optimise fleet availability and provide reliable maintenance support as it continues to expand its operations.
“We are pleased to further expand our collaboration with Embraer, a leading company in the aerospace sector. At a time of significant evolution for our airline, being able to rely on a longstanding, solid, and renowned partner like Embraer represents a valuable opportunity for us and an important step in our growth journey,” said Steffen Harbarth, CEO of Air Dolomiti.
The agreement with Austrian Airlines, meanwhile, covers its current fleet of 13 Embraer E195s. The contract provides access to more than 300 components, along with exchange, repair and overhaul services, helping the airline maintain high levels of fleet availability while simplifying component management.
Commenting on the agreements, Carlos Naufel, President and CEO of Embraer Services & Support, emphasised the importance of improving aircraft availability and reducing maintenance-related costs through the Pool Program. Referring to Air Dolomiti, he highlighted access to a “comprehensive logistics and services structure designed to maximize aircraft availability and deliver predictable support across its network.”

In regard to Austrian Airlines, Naufel pointed to a solution that “combines inventory access, repair capabilities and technical expertise,” allowing the carrier to focus on delivering an outstanding travel experience. The financial terms of the agreements were not disclosed.
The agreements come amid an ongoing restructuring of Lufthansa Group’s regional fleets. Austrian Airlines is gradually phasing out its Embraer E195s as part of a broader fleet renewal programme. Of the 17 jets originally operated by the Austrian carrier, 13 were designated for transfer to Air Dolomiti, while the remaining four were earmarked for sale outside Lufthansa Group. The process began in December 2025, with 4 aircraft having changed operators by October 2026. The remaining 9 are expected to follow by 2028.
Air Dolomiti plans to use the incoming E195s to gradually replace its 9 smaller E190s, increasing passenger capacity and simplifying its fleet composition. Once the transition is completed, the Italian airline expects to operate a fleet of 30 aircraft. Austrian Airlines, in turn, is replacing its regional jets with six additional Airbus A320neo aircraft as part of a broader modernisation of its short- and medium-haul fleet.
Embraer’s Component Pool Program provides operators with access to an extensive inventory of aircraft components and a global network of technical support services. By reducing the need to maintain large stocks of spare parts, the programme helps operators to lower component repair, inventory holding and warehousing costs. According to Embraer, the programme operates within a framework of guaranteed performance levels, helping airlines maintain fleet availability.
